CHARLES MINKER

Charles Minker was elected to the Washington City Tenpin Bowling Association Board of Directors at the annual meeting in May 1958.

He served on the Board of Directors with complete satisfaction and outstanding performance until his death in 1962.

Mr. Minker was an avid bowler, he participated in four leagues and served as Secretary-Treasurer of one league which under his guidance increased in teams each year. This league was the first league to enter the annual city tournament as a whole league each year.

Charles Minker served as Chairman of the Annual Bowlers Victory Legion Tournament and during his year he did an outstanding job of distributing tournament blanks to the bowling lanes and at the conclusion of the tournament he quickly distributed the prize money.

His fellow officers on the Association Board had a saying that when a real tough job appeared- "Let Charlie do it" - and it was done.

The death of Charlie Minker was the first ever experienced as a line officer of the association and those who served with him will long remember him as the bowler with the ready smile and warm handshake.
