ELMER BREEDEN

Elmer Breeden is forty-seven years old and lives in Manassas, Virginia, with his wife, Dixie, and three sons, Gary (age twenty-five), Ray (age eighteen), and Randy (age eight). He is employed by the Arlington Glass, Inc., Arlington, Virginia.

Elmer, known as the "Machine" to his peers, has been bowling since 1962, and it is awesome to think what he might have accomplished had he started just a little earlier. Listing his accomplishments on teams he has bowled with would be almost impossible. Individually, Elmer has been among the top area bowlers since 1962. He won the Nationwide T.V. Series King of the Hill three (3) times in 1965. He finished ninth (9th) in ABC Singles with 703 in 1967. He finished twelfth (12th) in ABC All Events with 1921. He was top ranked in the NCABA in 1972 with 201 average and has averaged regularly at the 200 mark. He has won the National Capital Area Singles Championship two (2) times and the NCABA City Tournament Singles in 1975. He has finished second (2nd) in the MWPBA Tournament Invitational Tournament on (3) occasions. He won the Fairlanes Open Tournament in 1969 and finished third (3rd) in the Professional Bowlers Tournament at Staunton, Virginia, in late 1972. He has been a member of the Virginia All Stars from 1965 to 1977 and has won the title twelve (12) times. He has also accomplished the same goal in the Atlantic Coast Bowling Association, winning three (3) titles from 1974 to 1977. He claims a high game of 290 and an exceptional high series of 804.

A quiet, well controlled, and outstanding bowler, Elmer goes about the business of making the game appear easy. His ever present smile and encouraging attitude add something to the bowling game today.

Elmer's devotion to the betterment of the sport has long distinguished him as a bowler most worthy to be a member of the most elite group of the Hall of Fame.
