April 21, 2024 — Top seed Chance McLane, Chesapeake Beach, Md., defeated second seed Nick Trentler, Phoenix, Md., 255-148 to win the 190 and Above average division in the NCAUSBCA Youth 32nd Annual 600 Club Tournament of Champions held this afternoon at Bowl America Shirley. McLane averaged 244.2 for six games. Trentler defeated third seed A J Hickok, Stafford, Va., 231-205 to reach the title match. Hickok defeated Raymond Lewis of Woodbridge, Va., 252-233 in the opening match.
Meanwhile, second seed Janiyah Hightower, Fort Washington, Md., defeated top seed Joey Graziano, Haymarket, Va., 236-225 to win the Under 190 average division after defeating third seed Jackson Brewer, Fairfax Station, Va., 237-203. Hightower averaged 216.4 for seven games. Brewer defeated fourth seed Amina Hall, Silver Spring, Md., 196-195 in the opening match.
The Tournament of Champions awarded $3,075 in scholarship money. All scholarship funds will be administered through the USBC SMART program. McLane and Janiyah Hightower each earned $500, Trentler and Graziano each earned $350, Hickok and Brewer earned $250 each, and Lewis and Hall each earned $150. In addition, Jordyn Moore, Temple Hills, Md., and Jaylen Hightower, Fort Washington, Md., finished fifth and earned $100.
Other qualifiers in the 190 and Above division: 6, Dontaé Casey, District Heights, Md.; 7, Dylan Manning, Front Royal, Va.; and 8, Benjamin Sarns, Chesapeake Beach, Md.
The other qualifier in the Under 190 division: 6, Philip Belcher, Centreville, Va.
All other qualifiers earned $50 each in scholarship money.
McLane was the top qualifier in the 190 and Above division with a 1,210 five-game total (242 average), earning $50 in scholarship money. Trentler and Lewis each earned $25 for the top game during qualifying with a 279.
Graziano was the top qualifier in the Under 190 division with a 1,142 five-game total (228.4 average), earning $50 in scholarship money and an extra $25 for the top game during qualifying with a 259.

February 18, 2024 — Second seed Carter Surrey, Oxon Hill, Md., defeated top seed Dylan Manning, Front Royal, Va., 213-149 to win the 190 and Above average division of the NCAUSBCA Youth 600 Club Winter Singles Tournament held this afternoon at AMF Waldorf. Surrey, who averaged 224 for seven games, defeated third seed Chance McLane, Chesapeake Beach, Md., 246-243 to reach the title match.
Meanwhile, third seed Jackson Brewer, Fairfax Station, Va., defeated top seed Joey Graziano, Haymarket, Va., 190-182 to win the Under 190 average division. Brewer, who averaged 199 for seven games, defeated Janiyah Hightower, Fort Washington, Md., 203-197 to reach the title match.
Surrey and Brewer each earned $100 in scholarship funds, which will be administered through the USBC SMART program. Manning and Graziano III each earned $70, and McLane and Hightower each earned $60 in scholarship funds. Aaron Brown, Washington, D.C., finished fourth and earned $50, while Jaylen Hightower, Fort Washington, Md., finished fifth and earned $40, both in the Under 190 average division.
Manning (1,131) and Graziano III (1,105) each earned an extra $50 for being high five-game qualifiers in their respective divisions.
Manning and Surrey also qualified for the Tournament of Champions in the 190 and Over division, which will be held April 21 at Bowl America Shirley. Graziano III, Brewer, Brown, and Mikael Smith, Capitol Heights, Md., qualified in the Under 190 average division.

November 19, 2023 — The third seeded team of Jaylen and Janiyah Hightower, Fort Washington, Md., defeated the top seeded team of William Dorris and Raymond Lewis, Woodbridge, Va., 224-223 to win first-place honors in the NCAUSBCA Youth 600 Club Winter Doubles Tournament, held today at Bowl America Falls Church. Hightower and Hightower defeated the second-seeded team of Jayden Burrell, Glenn Dale, Md., and Cameron Bennett, Essex, Md., 195-194 to reach the title match. The Baker style of team bowling was used for the stepladder matches.
Janiyah Hightower stepped up in the 10th frame of the first match and went strike-nine-spare, and in the championship match struck out in the 10th to win both matches by a single pin. Hightower and Hightower each earned $125 in scholarship funds. Dorris and Lewis each earned $75, and Burrell and Bennett each earned $50. All earnings will be managed through the USBC SMART program.
During the earlier qualifying round of five games, Lewis scored 1,122 in the 190 and Above Average division, and Janiyah Hightower bowled 1,161 in the Under 190 division to earn $50 each as top qualifiers in their respective divisions.
Dorris and Lewis earned the top seed with a 2,191 combined total, while Burrell and Bennett were second with 2,175. Hightower and Hightower secured the third seed with 2,055.
The following bowlers qualified for the Tournament of Champions, which will be held April 21 at Bowl America Shirley: 1, Lewis, 1,122; and 2, Burrell, 1,106 in the 190 and Over Division, and 1, Janiyah Hightower*, 1,161; 2, Sydney Smoot, Glen Burnie, Md., 992; and 3, Jaylen Hightower, 894 in the Under 190 division. October, 23, 2023 — Third seed Dontaé Casey, District Heights, Md., defeated top seed Chance McLane, Chesapeake Beach, Md., 232-168 to win the 190 and Above average division of the NCAUSBCA Youth 600 Club Fall Singles Tournament held yesterday at The Lanes Fort Meade. Casey, who averaged 230.9 for seven games, defeated second seed A J Hickok, Stafford, Va., 236-214 to reach the title match.
Meanwhile, third seed Xavier Hamlett, Crofton, Md., defeated top seed Janiyah Hightower, Fort Washington, Md., 222-172 to win the Under 190 average division. Hamlett, who averaged 196 for seven games, earlier defeated second seed Kevin Ellen, Clinton, Md., 178-151 to reach the title match.
Casey and Hamlett each earned $250 in scholarship funds, which will be administered through the USBC SMART program. McLane and Hightower each earned $150, and Hickok and Ellen each earned $100 in scholarship funds. Nick Trentler, Phoenix, Md., and Philip Belcher, Centreville, Va., finished fourth and earned $75 each.
McLane (1,203) and Hightower (1,028) each earned an extra $50 for being high five-game qualifiers in their respective divisions.
All eight bowlers also qualified for the Tournament of Champions, which will be held April 21 at Bowl America Shirley. Additional qualifiers for the Tournament of Champions in the 190 and Above division were fifth-place finisher Johnny Legere, Nottingham, Md., and Jordyn Moore, Temple Hills, Md., who placed sixth. Additional qualifiers in the Under 190 division were fifth-place finisher Michael Rossiter, Burke Va., along with Amina Hall, Silver Spring, Md., and Benjamin Sarns, of Chesapeake Beach, Md., who tied for sixth.
