PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE / Gene O. Mays

January / February 2015

Opportunities to participate and serve
are available

Now that the holidays have come and gone and some of you had an extended period away from bowling, I would like to congratulate the members of the NCAUSBCA for completing the first half of 2014-2015 bowling season.

As we embark on the season’s end, it is now time for league officers to make sure their league is financially stable. In addition, the presidents should have at least one more audit before the season ends. Also, you are reminded that all league officers in paid positions should not be paid until all monies have been correctly paid out to the leagues. This cannot be stressed enough. As a member of the association, you have a right to inquire about league funds if you believe there is a problem.

I would like to remind you to attend this season’s Annual Meeting that is coming up on March 15 at Bowl America Gaithersburg. We would like to have as many members as possible to attend this meeting, as your comments and/or suggestions are encouraged on proposed rules and or bylaw changes as well as the delegates to state meetings and the USBC Convention.

On behalf of the association, I would to thank you for your league participation. We value your commitment to support your league week after week. You are encouraged to consider completing and submitting an online application for any vacancies that occur on the board due to relocation or other reasons.

New bowlers are wanted and needed to join our leagues. Additionally, we want to encourage our bowlers to participate in association activities such as the Hall of Fame Induction & Dinner Celebration, the Annual Meeting, and the various tournaments that are available.

If you have any questions, you can contact your lane director, the association office, or me at president@ncausbca.org.

As always, Good Bowling!
