League president plays vital role at season’s end

It is the beginning of the end of the season. Each league president should make sure that the prize funds are right so that the payout goes off right. The president also should make sure that the final averages have been submitted for all of the games bowled by all of the league’s bowlers before the secretary gets paid.

The association recently completed its Women’s Championship Tournament, which took place at Bowl America Chantilly. The prize list appears here. Our Open Championship Tournament, which occurred at Bowl America Shirley and Bowl America Woodbridge, also just finished, and, when ready, that prize list will appear on this site and will be summarized in the next issue of BOWL Magazine.

NCAUSBCA delegates attended the 2010 United States Bowling Congress Convention held in Reno, Nev. There were 24 proposed amendments scheduled as well as bylaws changes. The voting results are available here.

You may have heard by now that several area bowlers have had their averages rerated. The association's new Rerate Committee was given a list of names by several sources, and information was gathered on several of these bowlers.

If you believe that a bowler is purposely not bowling to their skill level, you can submit their name to the office or E-mail me with information, and it will be considered. If action is needed, it will be performed by the committee; you will not be involved.

I am coming to the end of my run as president of this association, and it has been very interesting. I will be around to help in the office starting when my term is up. Enjoy the summer.
