PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE / Kirk S. Williams

December 2009 / January 2010

League presidents must do their jobs
during the holiday season

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I know this is a joyful time, but league presidents still need to do their jobs and check the books each and every month.

I would like to congratulate all those who bowled in the Senior Tournament and thank Director Hazel Wallace for a well-run event. The checks have been mailed, and click here to view the list of prize winners.

The NCAUSBCA Youth Scratch Invitational begins January 23, 2010 at Bowl America Gaithersburg, which also hosts the fifth and final round on February 7. The complete schedule of this event appears in the Calendar of Events on page 22 in BOWL Magazine. If you get a chance, go out and see the future of our sport in action.

As you may know, there’s a lot going on within the association, and on February 21, we will hold the NCAUSBCA Annual Meeting. It will be held at the Holiday Inn on Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria. Complete information will appear on this site and in the next magazine.

For those waiting for your membership cards, I understand they are arriving rather slowly from Bowling Headquarters in Arlington, Texas. All league applications have been processed at NCAUSBCA, so if you have any problems, feel free to contact the office, and we will get somebody out to help or tell you or whom to call.

As you visit this site, please be sure to check out two links in particular—one offers shopping at a discount, and the other brings up an application for a Virginia State directorship with a January 15 deadline.

Here’s hoping you don’t get ashes and switches for Christmas.
