PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE / Thomas Allen

December 2001 / January 2002

Watch for your sanction card
in the mail

The season is well underway, and I hope all sanction applications and “add-on” cards have been submitted. You will receive your sanction cards in the mail from Bowling Headquarters in Wisconsin, so keep an eye out for them.

Your league’s prize fund should have been selected by the fifth week of bowling. The president, along with the audit committee, should review the monthly bank or center statements for accuracy.

A representative for the annual NCABA Council of Delegates Meeting in February should be prepared to attend this event, where decisions are made on rule changes and other association-related matters. It is important that your league is represented and gets to vote on these issues. Additional information about this meeting will appear in the next issue.

As the holidays approach and the season continues, many of you look forward to bowling in upcoming tournaments. The next NCABA/WDCAWBA 600-700 Scratch Doubles Tournament will be held at Bowl America Falls Church on February 16 and 17. (Click here for a printable entry form and rules.) In response to the survey from our web site, we will expand the event to three shifts—two on Saturday and one on Sunday. I’m looking forward to seeing you there.

Don’t forget that NCABA will host the Virginia State Tournament this season. I would like to see a record number of applications submitted.

That’s all for now. As usual, you can reach me via E-mail or call me at home (703/759-7286). Good bowling and, above all, have fun.
