There are a few housekeeping items to be aware of as the season gets closer to the end for many leagues.
League rosters are updated and returned to the secretary via eMail when possible; the subject line is “League RosterU” and a file titled “rptLeagueRosterPortrait.rtf” is attached. Secretaries: Please check your spam folders for this message.
All members of your league must have a current membership; otherwise, games bowled may be subject to forfeit, and the bowlers risk suspension. The latest list of unpaid bowlers is available here.
The Women’s Championship Tournament is currently under way at AMF Annandale. Meanwhile, the Open Championship Tournament will begin the weekend of April 6-7 at Bowl America Fairfax (team) and Bowl America Falls Church (singles & doubles). There are still plenty of good slots available, so get your entries in soon. Tournament confirmations are sent via eMail when requested with the subject “Confirmation LetterU”. They are sent via the postal service if no eMail address is given.
New to both tournaments this year are the Senior Singles and Senior All Events handicap prize categories for bowlers age 55 and older. The Sports Plus/Carmen Don Pro Shop in Alexandria generously provided each tournament with $1,000 of added prize money to apply to these senior divisions.
We have had a decent winter so far, but winter is not done yet. Here’s a reminder to allow for a postponement if any weather-related issues arise.
