Hall of Fame Celebration was a festive event

Last month, the NCAUSBCA Hall of Fame Induction and Dinner Celebration was held at Rosecroft Raceway. I want to congratulate the four individuals who were inducted—Alden “Andy” Anderson, Buddy Engleman, Bobby Hall Sr., and Richard “Rick” Parker. This event turned out to be one of the most well-attended we have had in many years; there were over 200 attendees who came out to support the event and the inductees. If you did not attend, you missed a very festive occasion.

I trust that your league is running smoothly: You have a prize list, the president has checked the bank statement, the treasurer has presented a financial statement, the secretary has submitted requests for all awards earned, and you are bowling better than last season.

League secretaries: Do yourself a favor and keep a list of any issues that arise during the season so that they can be reviewed and, if necessary, addressed during the organizational meeting prior to next season.

Entry blanks for the 68th Women’s Championship Tournament to be held at AMF Annandale on March 2-3, 16-17, and 23-24, 2013, and the 68th Annual Open Championship Tournament to be held at Bowl America Fairfax and Bowl America Falls Church on April 6-7, 13-14, and 20-21, 2013, will appear in your bowling center and on this site shortly. We will add Senior Singles and Senior All Events divisions (for bowlers ages 55 and over) to both tournaments.

For some of our members, this time of the year may not be as bountiful as in years past. We still, however, should take some time to reflect on how much we have to be thankful for in our lives. I hope you have a chance to get together with your family during this holiday season.
