The BVL campaign:
Please support our veterans

November is here, and that means the annual BVL campaign begins. The Fort Belvoir Bowling Center will host the kickoff on November 5. When a member of the NCABA or WDCAWBA boards comes to your league and asks for funds, please dig deep and show our veterans that we support them.

In addition to my duties here, I have been asked to serve on the transition team that is working to merge three associations into one. I am sure it will turn out to be very interesting and, rest assured, I will look out for all our bowlers’ welfare.

I have received several calls from leagues concerning league rules. Most of these questions and conflicts could have been handled at the organizational meeting. Had those who complained attended that meeting, they would have had a say in how the league rules were approved.

I have been accused of not coming up with original columns. If the items I wrote last year fit the situation this year, I will remind you again. If this doesn’t sit well with some of you, deal with it.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. When you sit down to a feast on Thanksgiving Day, think about those who are not as fortunate as you and consider giving to a local charity to help them out.
