Good things

This time, we will talk about good things.

Congratulations to Vince Jozwiak, Glenn Callaway, Steve Graves, and Anthony Chapman for their election to the Nation’s Capital Area Bowling Associations Hall of Fame and to Kendra Gaines for her election to the Washington, D.C. Area Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame. They were formally inducted into their respective halls in ceremonies held October 9 at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington. It was a great affair as can attested to by those who attended.

The “To The Bar!!” team bowling in the Merchants Mixed league at Bowl America Woodbridge on March 16 scored the third highest scratch game for a five-person mixed team in ABC/WIBC competition during the 2003-2004 season. The team, captained by Keith Stamper, had a scratch score of 1,271. Individual scores were William Baxter 238, Ellen Taylor 224, Mary Hill 289, David Hennessee 299, and Stampler 221. Congratulations to all.

Meanwhile, all secretaries should have submitted their sanction forms along with the cards by now to the association office(s). If any secretary hasn’t, he or she had better get on the ball; you don’t want to take a chance of your league losing its bonding.

I hope all your deliveries are strikes and you score well.
