The board has four vacancies for the term ending July 31, 2019 and is looking for candidates willing to interact with bowling on a different level beyond merely participating on league night. If you might be interested but don’t wish to commit full-time right now, volunteers are welcome. Who knows, your particular skill set may make a difference.
You can fill out and submit a candidate form, after which you will be contacted. Immediate assistance is needed for people with skills/contacts for fund-raising/grants, accounting, marketing, and public relations. You can make a difference if you take the first step.
The bid process for the 2018-2019 season tournaments has been completed. Bids are sent to every independent, military, or corporate entity with 30 or more lanes in our jurisdiction. We only received a select list of centers from Bowl America and Bowlmor AMF, and the following centers were chosen to host our events:
NCAUSBCA’s premier event, the Hall of Fame Induction & Dinner Celebration, is set for November 3, 2018 at the Bolling AFB Officers' Club. This year’s inductee is Tony Walton. Judging by past attendance at this venue, it is advisable to obtain your tickets early. Let’s continue the tradition of having a classy and memorable event.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to attend the jamborees/league officers meetings. This is the time to go over things that caused problems last season. You also can meet your lane representatives and establish a rapport with them as well as change or amend league rules, etc.
Membership fees remain the same for the new season: Standard membership is $24.00, which includes the Virginia State membership and covers multiple league participation and the 2019 summer season; Basic membership is $11.00 but is limited to one league; Youth membership is $4.00; Local only is $10.00 with a valid Virginia State membership; State membership is $1.00.
New league champion pins soon will arrive at the office, and we will make every effort to see that all 2017-2018 champions receive their award.

The term of Willie H. Graves Jr. as association president soon will end, and I want to thank him for working with the office staff and taking on the challenges of leadership these past two-plus years and for giving his time and expertise. Fortunately, he will hold the position as second vice president in the new season, so there will be some continuity on our executive board, and that bodes well for us all.
