Bowling Writers Association of America
offers college scholarship

December 20, 2002 — The Bowling Writers Association of America annually awards a $1,000 college scholarship to a male or female bowler who takes journalism courses and is interested in a career as a professional or amateur writer or broadcaster. The sport of bowling desperately needs young people who enjoy the sport of bowling and are eager to spread the word through their stories or broadcasts.

BWAA's goal is to honor a high school senior or collegian at its 2003 annual convention in Knoxville, Tenn. If two outstanding entries are received, there is a good chance that two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.

Deadline for all nominations is February 1, 2003. Any questions about the scholarship should be to forwarded to Dick Evans, BWAA Bowling Media Scholarship Committee chairman.
