Cameron and Norry take
Classic Division doubles lead
at WIBC Tournament

The success in the recent WIBC Queens tournament by former TEAM USA teammates Kendra Cameron and Lynda Norry shouldn't have been a surprise after they joined forces to capture the Classic Division (180 average and over) doubles event lead May 11 in the 1998 WIBC Championship Tournament.

Cameron of Gambrills, Md., a four-time TEAM USA member and the 1997 WIBC Classic all events champion, rolled 662. Norry, a TEAM USA member for an unprecedented seventh time, added 643. Their 1,305 left them ahead of Bonita Brantley of Bloomfield, N.J., and Glenna Crockett of Bogota, N.J., who scored 1,283.

"All I wanted was the champion's pendant," Norry said when asked about any goals she might have set before competing.

"After winning the WIBC all events title last year, I wanted to come back and win another one," Cameron said.

Meanwhile, Adrienne Chichester of the District holds the high game in Division II with a 267.

All scores are unofficial through June 14.
