Bill Dodds' NCABA Hall of Fame induction speech

Arlington-Fairfax Elks Lodge, Fairfax, Virginia

October 10, 1998

I want to say how happy I am to be selected into this great Hall of Fame, to join the other men and women who have served their respective boards so faithfully.

You look up here and see the words "Hall of Fame." In these words, each letter stands for something the people in the Hall of Fame have lived by for years to get to the Hall of Fame. They are:

I want to thank Charlie Hagaman for nominating me.

To the Hall of Fame members: We must still be the leaders of our respective organizations. Let people know that as Hall of Famers, we are your leaders.

To the nominees who did not make it this year: Keep up your work of serving other bowlers and your bowling houses.

To all directors: Men and women, do not forget the goals you had when you became directors. Lose these goals and you serve no one.

Again, thank you for this great honor bestowed on me.
