OUTGOING PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE / George R. Sook

August 1998

Best wishes to everyone

The past bowling season has gone by so quickly that I wonder what I really accomplished. I had sincerely hoped to find a way to stem the loss of league bowlers; however, that was not to be as our membership has continued to decline.

In looking back, we did have successful association tournaments, lots of award scores, another year of leading the nation in the BVL fund drive, the establishment of a sincere, cooperative effort with the Washington D.C. Area Women's Bowling Association, the sale of General Bowl to AMF, a more harmonious relationship with the American Bowling Congress in preparing our industry for the new millenium, and our annual highlight, the Hall of Fame Dinner-Dance.

I wish to thank all of you who have made this past season an enjoyable success. This includes all of the officers, directors, past presidents, and life members of the NCABA, my fellow league bowlers at Crofton Bowling Centre, and all of the other bowlers throughout the association with whom I have had the pleasure to meet and talk.

Again, my thanks for your support. I ask that you assist your incoming president, Gray Ransom, who will serve you well.

Best wishes to everyone in the seasons ahead. May your lives be bountiful and fruitful.
