October 12, 1982: Leading qualifier Mark Roth earns his 27th PBA title at the Regional Champions Classic in Limerick, Pa., with a 216-205 victory over Tom Milton.


October 12, 1970: Dick Ritger topples six opponents, including Don Johnson, 246-223, in the deciding contest to successfully defend his title at the Japan Gold Cup Invitational in Tokyo. The PBA victory is Ritger's ninth.
