September 13, 1970: Curt Schmidt defeats Roy Buckley, 203-188, in the 40th and final game of the Blue Mountain Open in Wind Gap, Pa., to capture his first PBA title and $3,000. Johnny Guenther overtook Gary Mage, 207-179, to move ahead of Buckley and finish second.
