August 30, 1996: Dale Eagle wins his first PBA title in 10 years by defeating top seed Roy Buckley, 213-194, in the final match of the Jackson (Mich.) PBA Senior Championship.


August 30, 1994: Amleto Monacelli, who led the field by 318 pins, captures PBA title No. 15 at the Greater Lexington (Ky.) Classic with a 257-193 victory over Brian Voss.


August 30, 1990: Earl Anthony takes home the trophy for the third time this year by upending leader John Hricsina, 244-192, in the title contest of the Ebonite Senior Championship in Canton, Ohio.


August 30, 1989: Unknown Allan Chodor comes out on top at the Hammer Senior Open in Texas City, Texas with a 216-202 conquest of leading qualifier John Handegard.


August 30, 1983: Les Zikes wins his second PBA title—and his first in 14 years—at the Waukegan (Ill.) Open by defeating four opponents, including top seed Johnny Petraglia, 258-168, in the championship match. Ironically, it was Petraglia who finished second to Zikes in 1969.
