August 29, 1997: Larry Laub wins his third senior title of the year at the Showboat PBA Senior National Championship in Jackson, Mich., with a 60-50 two-frame roll-off victory over John Hricsina after they tied at 226 in the deciding contest.


August 29, 1995: John Handegard defeats top seed Avery LeBlanc, 246-185, to capture the Jackson (Mich.) PBA Senior Championship and become the first player in PBA history to win both a senior and national tournament in the same year.


August 29, 1992: Gene Stus takes home the trophy for the second consecutive year at the Ebonite PBA Senior Championship in Cheektowaga, N.Y., by conquering Teata Semiz, 192-166, in the championship match.
