August 21, 1997: Pete Couture wins the Showboat PBA Glass City Open in Toledo, Ohio with a 255-202 mashing of top seed Dave Soutar.


August 21, 1995: Dan Roche captures his first PBA title after 21 years on tour by winning four championship round matches at the Hoosier PBA Senior Classic in South Bend, Indiana, including a 279-257 title contest victory over Les Zikes.


August 21, 1985: After finishing second the previous year, Les Zikes teams with Steve Wunderlich to take home the title at the Columbia Senior/Touring Pro Doubles Championship in Erlanger, Kentucky by crushing the top-seeded duo of Carmen Salvino and Dave Husted, 266-187.


August 21, 1984: Pete Weber celebrates his 22nd birthday—and his second PBA title in weeks—with a 230-197 conquest of leader Bob Chamberlain in the deciding contest of the Molson Golden Bowling Challenge in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
