August 16, 1998: Johnny Petraglia's hopes of winning the first PBA senior event in which he competes are dashed by Gary Dickinson, 238-236, in the title match of the ABC Senior Masters in Akron, Ohio. Dickinson collects $60,000 for the victory.


August 16, 1994: Dave Husted defeats George Branham III, 279-238, to capture the Sherwin-Williams Classic in Bedford, Ohio. Husted becomes the 36th player in PBA history to win 10 or more titles.


August 16, 1990: Pete Weber conquers Ron Williams, 257-251, to take home the trophy at the LaMode Classic in Green Bay, Wis. The victory is Weber's 14th PBA title—his first in 13 months.


August 16, 1989: Marc McDowell and Dick Weber team to win the Senior/Touring Pro Doubles Championship in Buffalo, N.Y. Their championship match opponents were Brian Voss and Jimmy Certain, who lost, 243-226.


August 16, 1983: Sam Zurich is victorious at the Buffalo Open in Cheektowaga, N.Y., with a 209-172 win over Mark Roth in the title contest.
