August 11, 1993: Darrel Curtis, 60, becomes the oldest member to capture a PBA senior title when he defeats top seed Barry Gurney, 218-195, in the championship match of the Springfield (Mo.) Senior Open.


August 11, 1981: For the second consective week, Marshall Holman runs away from the field (by 474 pins; 560 the week before) but loses in the final match. Today, he falls to PBA Hall of Famer Dave Soutar, 222-181, at the Aqua Fest-Mr. Gatti's Open in Austin, Texas.
