August 6, 1994: Top seed John Handegard closes with four strikes to beat Gene Stus, 226-215, and capture the Rocky Mountain PBA Senior Open in Littleton, Co. The victory is Handegard's tenth on the PBA Senior Tour.


August 6, 1992: Dick Weber and Justin Hromek team up to win the PBA Senior/Touring Pro Doubles in Belleville, Ill., by defeating Nelson Burton Jr. and Bob Benoit, 248-200.


August 6, 1986: In a battle of PBA non-champions, Jeff Bellinger bests leader Randy Johnson, 203-181, at the Greater Buffalo Open in Cheektowaga, N.Y.


August 6, 1974: Nelson Burton Jr. conquers Earl Anthony, 236-230, in the title match of the Home Box Office Open in Hartford, Conn. It is Burton's first tour victory in two years.
