July 24, 1997: Anne Marie Duggan totalled 653 for three games, including a 234-215 conquest of leader Carolyn Dorin-Ballard to win the Sam Town's LPBT Berkeley Invitational in Goose Creek, South Carolina.


July 24, 1997: Gary Mage wins his second title on the PBA Senior Tour by defeating top seed Pete Couture, 225-194, in the championship match of the Showboat Boise (Idaho) PBA Senior Open.


July 24, 1985: Tournament leader Guppy Troup captures his eighth PBA title with a 184-156 victory over Mark Baker. In the semifinal contest, Dave Ferraro recorded the highest losing score ever in the TV finals, falling to Baker, 279-278.


July 24, 1984: Pete Weber closes with six strikes to close out top seed Marshall Holman, 244-238, and take home his third PBA title in the deciding game of the Aqua Fest/Mr. Gatti's Open in Austin, Texas. Holman could have won with a double in the tenth, but after striking on his first ball, he left a 10-pin to open the door for Weber.
