July 22, 1993: Tournament leader John Hricsina takes home the title at the PBA Rocky Mountain Senior Open in Littleton, Colorado with a convincing 290-224 championship match victory over John Handegard.


July 22, 1987: Walter Ray Williams Jr. captures his second PBA championship of the year and the fifth of his career by defeating top seed Mike Aulby, 245-204, in the title match of the Hammer Open.


July 22, 1980: Twenty-year-old Mike Aulby, who leads the Tucson Open field by 599 pins, wins his third PBA title with a 232-188 conquest of Sam Flanagan, who competed in his fourth tournament since suffering a broken leg.
