July 14, 1990: Bryan Goebel captures his first PBA title by defeating top seed Joe Salvemini, 184-173, at the Miller Lite Challenge in Tucson, Ariz. In earlier matches, Goebel handled Jimmie Pritts Jr. (248-202), Mike Shady (277-188), and Scott Devers (222-175).


July 14, 1981: Ted Hannahs enters victory lane on the PBA Tour for the first time when he tops Tommy Hudson, 181-172, in the championship match of the Waukegan (Ill.) Open.
