July 13, 1995: Second seed Lisa Wagner emerges victorious at the Sam's Town LPBT Quantum Techologies Old Dominion Open in Newport News, Va., after she defeats Carol Norman, 226-220, in the championship match. Wagner put away Carol Gianotti, 212-171, in the semifinal match before facing Norman.


July 13, 1991: Norm Duke wins his second PBA title of the year and the third of his career by upsetting top seed John Mazza, 215-173, in the championship match of the Tucson Open. In the semifinal contest, Jess Stayrook becomes the third player in PBA history to convert the 7-10 split on national television.


July 13, 1988: Sam Maccarone enters the PBA winner's circle for the first time when he defeats tournament leader Walter Ray Williams Jr., 237-225, in the title match of the Kessler Classic in Riverside, Calif. For the second consecutive week, Williams loses from the No. 1 position.


July 13, 1970: Nelson Burton Jr. captures his third PBA title of the year at the El Paso (Texas) Open. His margin of victory in the 40-game event is 288 pins ahead of Johnny Petraglia.
