July 12, 1996: John Handegard scores 812 for his three televised games, but top seed Gary Mage emerges as the victor of the Northwest Senior Classic in Beaverton, Oregon—his first PBA Senior title—by defeating Handegard, 258-256, in the title match. Handegard earlier put away Donald Hargraves (278-226) and Barry Gurney (278-206) to get his chance at Mage.


July 12, 1994: John Mazza wins his fifth PBA title at the Hilton Hotels Classic in Reno, Nev., by defeating Walter Ray Williams Jr., 267-233, in the championship match. In the opening contest, Butch Soper scored the eighth perfect game on television by topping Bob Benoit, 300-236.


July 12, 1989: Amleto Monacelli captures his third career PBA title by crushing Dave Husted, 243-173, in the deciding contest of the Miller Lite Challenge in Tucson, Arizona. It is Monacelli's first victory in 18 months.
