July 11, 1997: Gary Dickinson wins his second consecutive PBA Senior title by defeating Gene Stus, 276-235, in the championship match of the Showboat Seattle (Wash.) Senior Open. The victory is Dickinson's eighth on the Senior Tour.


July 11, 1995: John Handegard, 57, becomes the PBA's oldest champion of a National Tour event when he topples Mark Williams, 278-247, in the title contest of the Northwest Classic in Kennewick, Wash. Fifth seed Handegard reaches the final match after defeating Mike Aulby (215-205), Norm Duke (239-225), and Bryan Goebel (237-235).


July 11, 1992: Mike Miller returns to the tour after 18 months of injuries to capture his second PBA title at the Wichita Open. Miller, using his "no thumb" delivery, edges Ron Williams, the tour's hottest bowler, 202-198, in the deciding game.


July 11, 1991: In his first appearance on national television, top seed Adam Toney tops Mickey Spiezio, 187-166, in the title match of the St. Clair PBA Senior Open in O'Fallon, Ill.
