July 2, 1992: Gene Stus collects $119,300 as a result of his perfect game and title at the Pacific Cal Bowl PBA Senior Open in Lakewood, Calif. Fifth seed Stus began the ESPN-televised event by tossing a 300 game against Don Gilman, who only could muster a 188. It was the first Senior Tour perfecto on national televsion. Stus continued with wins against Tim Albin (226-164) and John Hricsina (213-153) before heading to the victor's circle with a 225-216 triumph against top seed John Handegard.


July 2, 1986: Top seed Mats Karlsson becomes the first foreign player to win a PBA title by defeating Dave Husted, 243-218, in the championship match of the Southern California Open.
