July 1, 1987: Brian Voss takes home PBA title No. 4 as he defeats Amleto Monacelli, 245-219, in the championship match of the Southern California Open. Monacelli scores victories over Dave Arnold (268-256), Rowdy Morrow (258-193), and Mark Baker (235-195) to earn the right to meet Voss.


July 1, 1980: Dave Beckmann wins his first PBA title at the Seattle Open by topping Tommy Hudson, 234-220, in the deciding contest. Beckmann reached the title match by defeating Wayne Webb, 213-189, in the semifinal contest.
