June 23, 1990: Hugh Miller wins for the first time in six years by topping fellow left-hander and top seed Joe Salvemini, 191-184, in the title match of the Fresno Open. The victory is Miller's fifth PBA title.


June 23, 1984: For the third time since 1977, Mark Roth and Marshall Holman succeed as a team by defeating Dave Husted and Ted Hannahs, 169-160, in the championship match of the Showboat PBA Doubles Classic.
